Attorney General Eric Holder announced Monday that the Justice Department will file suit against the state of North Carolina over changes to voting laws.
Holder said the DOJ hopes to prove that the law would intentionally shrink rather than expand citizens' abilities to vote and would disproportionately exclude minority voters from participating in elections.
