The concept of Sovereign Immunity was created so that diplomats in the US would be allowed to abide by the laws of their home country, without fear of being arrested or charged for breaking a US law.
But today, that concept is spreading to other industries – from police officers to hospitals – who are now trying to use immunity to avoid liability when they kill or harm innocent Americans.
