A year on since the end of Israel’s 50-day war on Gaza, many Palestinians see no change in their conditions due to the Israeli blockade on the coastal strip.

The United Nations estimates that some 18-thousand homes were destroyed or badly damaged during the Israeli offensive in July 2014.

A year on, many Gaza residents have been forced to live in makeshift houses due to the closure of temporary UN shelters.

Over 100-thousand Palestinians are still homeless, that’s more than 5% of the region’s one-point-eight million population.

The UN has blamed Israel’s strict sea, land and air blockade of Gaza for preventing the shipment of construction materials.

It has also said that donor countries which had pledged millions of dollars for Gaza reconstruction, haven't delivered on their promises.
