John Iadarola (twitter.com/jiadarola) and Jimmy Dore (twitter.com/jimmy_dore) hosts of The Young Turks and guest Desi Doyan (twitter.com/greennewsreport) discuss a plan by some lawmakers in Vermont to reinstate prohibition if pot isn't legalized.

"In a move equivalent to the legal version of 'taking my ball and going home', some lawmakers in Vermont are threatening to ban alcohol sales if marijuana isn't legalized for recreational use.

The new bill would ban possession and sale of alcohol, with a possession charge starting at a $500 fine and those caught selling could face up to $1 million in fines and possibly jail time.

The ban is being put into place more as a metaphor than a serious bill, with the bill's authors, Reps.

Jean O'Sullivan and Christopher Pearson, stating that it is to point of the ridiculousness in allowing a harmful substance like alcohol to be legal while penalizing the safer drug of Marijuana."

Is it time to legalize marijuana already? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
