Working mothers employed by the world's biggest retailer, Walmart, have walked off their jobs in 20 US cities .

The angry mothers are demanding better pay, more full-time openings, and an end to retaliation against workers who speak out against their conditions.

The strike followed a new report that showed top Walmart bosses received over 100 million dollars in taxpayer subsidies over six years.

The majority of working mothers at the retail giant earn less than 25000 dollars a year.

A recent study by think-tank Demos detailed how nearly one-point-five million American women, working in retail, live on or near the poverty line.
