Police brutality or reasonable force? Another day, another Internet video of what looks like a cop on a power trip.

This time, in Toledo, Ohio, over the weekend.

What should have been an uneventful traffic stop for Cassandra Meyers ended in a forceful confrontation for her father-in-law Aaron Tatkowski and his family.

Meyers was pulled over near her house for a licence place violation by a Washington Township police officer on Sunday.

Moments late, Tatkowski arrived home with his girlfriend, son and two young daughters to see the officer speaking to Meyers.

Uncomfortable with the way the man was speaking to her, he questioned the officer, who told him to return to his truck.

    He did as requested.

Tatkowski says the officer then roughly pulled him from the car and then his girlfriend, after she protested.

He claims the officer forced him, his girlfriend and 14-year-old son onto the ground.

The situation became increasingly tense as the officer stood over them pointing his weapon at their heads.

Tatkowski insists he complied with the officer's orders.

Tatkowski was treated at the scene for cuts to his knee and elbow before being taken to hospital.

The policeman, identified as Officer Hart, was treated for scratches, according to a police report cited by Toledo News Now.

The Washington Township Police chief said he stands by the police report, but made no further comment, Toledo News Now reported.
